General Care

Naturopathic Doctors are trained as primary care providers. Corvia Natural Healthcare Services provide whole family healthcare to the Virgin Islands community. Your first consultation with a naturopathic doctor will be 60 minutes which includes a complete health history and physical exam. The information gathered will be used to assist the naturopathic doctor in making an assessment and diagnosis. The naturopathic doctor will design an individualized treatment plan which includes dietary and nutritional changes, lifestyle changes, and other supportive therapies that will help facilitate the healing process. Your treatment plan may involve a prescription of herbs, a homeopathic remedy, nutritional supplements, therapeutic diet plan or an exercise regime. Follow-up consultations will be 30 minutes.

Clinical Nutrition
Clinical nutrition is essential for achieving optimal health. The use of diagnostic evaluation of your nutritional status, implementation of therapeutic diets and recommended nutritional supplements are fundamental to any naturopathic practice. Food intolerances, deficiencies, dietary imbalances or nutritional excesses have been associated with many medical conditions. Through the use of appropriate dietary modification and supplementation with nutrients, health concerns can be addressed and treated with minimal side effects and long lasting change.

Botanical Medicine
Botanical (herbal) medicines have been used for centuries to treat a wide array of health concerns. They were once the primary healing modality throughout North America and form the basis of many modern pharmaceuticals. The natural healing power of herbs can be used in the treatment of chronic and acute conditions. They are often found in several forms including fresh herbs, teas, tinctures, salves, and standardized extracts.

Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a science of healing based on the theory that "like cures like." It is a gentle and inexpensive form of treatment which stimulate the body's immune system to promote self-healing. We utilize a full range of Homeopathic remedies to promote optimal health.

Lifestyle Education and Stress Management
Many factors affect our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Naturopathic physicians seek to restore balance by making effective lifestyle choices in accordance with the principles of prevention and treating the whole person.

Physical Medicine

Physical medicine includes an array of hands-on techniques used to stimulate the healing power of nature such as constitutional hydrotherapy, soft tissue manipulation, colonics, and craniosacral therapy.

Constitutional Hydrotherapy or water therapy, is the application of hot and cold towels to the chest and back with specific electrical stimulation to various points on the back. The goal of hydrotherapy is to improve the flow of blood and lymphatic fluid throughout the body. This therapy is used to stimulate the immune system and to promote strengthening of the body’s innate healing power. By improving the quality and flow of blood and lymphatic fluid, more nutrients are available for cells to use and toxins are removed more efficiently.

Cranial Sacral Therapy works with the cranial rhythms and fascial systems to restore balance throughout the body. The rhythmic release of cerebral spinal fluid is felt in different parts of the body due to this connection. By accessing these two systems, any restrictions in the fascia is released to restore the rhythmic flow. It is a subtle and gentle treatment that allows the therapist to access the nervous system creating a state of relaxation.
